If you want to listen to live Russian music of all sorts – this is the place to go in Moscow. Only the best (in the sense of sound and quality, not popularity) Russian bands perform at this Moscow club. The music played here is really different: it can be rock, hiphop, street musicians' – everything and anything.
There are usually many young people, students, office types.
 
 
Proekt OGI

Address: Potapovskiy pereulok #8/12, Moscow, Russia, tel.927-5609, 927-5776. Area: Kitai Gorod, metro Chistye Prudy (red). Open: daily 24 hours.

A hangout for Moscow 's intelligentsia. The way it looks inside reminds one of a literature cafe: smoky, hectic in the evenings, many people talking to each other.
Almost every day they have interesting performances: poems and text readings, video shows, music, exhibitions etc. There's also a small gallery and a book shop.
You can eat in OGI for 100R ($4), but it'll take long in the evening, when there are many people.


Bunker

Address: Tverskaya #12/2, Moscow, Russia, tel.200-1506. (metro: Tverskaya (green), Pushkinskaya (violet)). Open: mon-sun daily, concerts begin at 23.00, Tickets: 50-200 roubles (1.8-7$).

This is a great big club located on the main street in Moscow – Tverskaya. It has concerts in the evenings of Russian rock bands. There're quite a lot of people, sometimes too many. Concerts start at 23.00 and dancing starts at 0:30.
You can also have a meal for $7-$10 there.



Trety Put (Third Path)

Address: Pyatnitskaya ulitsa #4, Moscow, Russia, tel 951-8734. Area: Zamoskvorechie, metro Novokuznetskaya. Open: fri-sat 22.00-5.00

This is a totally weird, yet interesting place. They have insane electronic music entertaining crazy drunken people. There are four rooms: one with chessboards, one with TV screens, one with a bar, and the last is for alternative performances.

Vermel

Address: Raushskaya naberezhnaya (embankment), #4/5, Moscow, Russia, tel.959-3303. Area: Zamoskvorechie, metro Novokuznetskaya. Open: mon-sun 12.00-5.00, Entrance: 50-70 R (2-3$)

A student's place with reasonable prices.Various rock, alternative, celtic, folk music concerts played mostly by Russian bands.

A calm place with acoustic music. Good sound system but they prefer quiet music. This is a great place just to mix with friends, but not twist and shout.


Tabula Rasa

A Strange mix of nice acoustic music and poor DJ sets. Expensive meals and drinks, not the fastest serice on busy nights service.

BB King Blues Club

The premiere opening featured the man himself, and visiting Western stars have continued to make appearances here, often for post-concert jams.

 

Jazz Krasnaya Ploshchad

Jazz sounds fill the room nightly at this stylish restaurant, only a few yards away from the Kremlin.

Scriabin Museum Hall

Performances are held usually on Wednesday in a small concert hall in the apartment building where the composer Alexander Scriabin lived.

Tchaikovsky Concert Hall

With seating for more than 1,600, this huge hall is home to the State Symphony Orchestra.
